Clown's like Leckie and Leggat can be Dangerous.

21 Feb, 2012 - 2:03 PM - by Joe O'Rourke

I said in my blog yesterday that I thought we were entering into a very dangerous time as Celtic supporters; there appears to a reaction to our obvious enjoyment of the present financial predicament facing our rivals.
The fires have also been stoked by the usual suspects; led miserably as usual by Bill Leckie and Alan Pattullo of the Scotsman; they seem to think we should not be happy because the EE have been cheating us and the rest of Scottish Football for over a decade; would they like us to have a collection for them instead?
Can you imagine in any context Leckie accusing us of lacking dignity? I was going to call him a Muppet; but I think I would be insulting Muppet’s; as for Pattullo; has anyone ever heard of this clown?... [Read More]

"Will the two remaining derby matches actually take place?"

I had a great day partying at Easter Road yesterday, it’s great also that we will win the league sooner than expected with a few games to spare; but winning it at the home of the Evil Empire (EE); I’m not so sure that will be allowed to happen.
We seen and heard on Saturday the repertoire of the sell-out crowd at Snake Mountain; the hatred was very evident; and not surprisingly brought comments from most of the Scottish Media; although Rob McLean’s comment that it was the referees fault was astonishing.
Let’s imagine we were going there with the opportunity to win the league on March 25th; who would guarantee Neil Lennon’s safety? Even with over 8,000 Celtic supporters present; it would an extremely dangerous situation for Lenny; we would need to move the... [Read More]

Contact UEFA over Salmond's Interference.

17 Feb, 2012 - 3:07 PM - by Joe O'Rourke

I am getting a bit bored with the entire media furore surrounding the plight of the establishment team, I would much rather be writing about Celtic and our drive towards the treble in Scotland; than the EE.
But the interference of Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond needs to be addressed. He has said in the past that politics has no place in football; I certainly think politicians have no place if football; unless it’s in the stands supporting you team.
UEFA regulations I believe state that there can be no political interference in football of any kind; in fact I think Celtic supporters were convicted by UEFA of singing political songs; and our club were punished for it.... [Read More]

Now the Prime Minister gives the EE his backing, astonishing.

I must say I’m astounded to read some of the comments from the First Minister Alex Salmond and other politicians in Scotland with regard to the furore surrounding Rangers and their financial debacle. It was even more astounding; but not surprising to hear Tory leader David Cameron giving his opinion; I wonder what his thoughts are on Portsmouth going into administration.
Salmond actually starts to talk about Celtic and their fans opinions on the subject; just exactly how Alex Salmond would know how a Celtic fan thinks bemuses me; as a supporter of the Brethren of the East; he would be the exact opposite of a Celtic fan.
If there was ever any doubt that the Evil Empire were the establishment team; then those doubts are gone now. The politicians are supported in the... [Read More]

"If Politicians Keep Out of Football, Celtic Fans Will Keep Out of Politic's"

15 Feb, 2012 - 1:46 PM - by Joe O'Rourke

The most recent experience we have of Politicians meddling in football matters resulted in the basically flawed “Offensive behaviour at Football, and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Bill; through that interference we have seen football supporters being dragged through the courts for doing nothing more than sing.
Now we have Sports Minister Shona Robison stating “We want agreement that will protect jobs… Rangers are a crucial part of our national game” how many jobs could have been created; or protected if they had paid their tax bill? In the last nine months alone; they have failed to pay £9m pounds in PAYE and VAT.
Labours spokesperson on sport Patricia Ferguson MSP joined in by saying “Rangers are one of the oldest football clubs in Scotland and it would be a sad... [Read More]
