[COLOR=#000000:f1994233]In keeping with the Association; and indeed the who Celtic Familys reputation for supporting worthy causes, we will be holding a Race Night in our Social Club on London Road on Friday November 11th, all proceeds will be donated to The Tommy Burns Skin Cancer Charity. [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]We have been trying to arrange this night for quite a long time now; but due to different circumstances for one thing or another it is only happening now. [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]One of the main reasons for the delay was the refurbishment of our social club; this has been on-going since last July; but its finally getting there; the whole club has been renovated; with new central heating being installed. [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]We also have downstairs The Tommy Burns Suite which was officially opened by Rosemary and the family in December last year; the centre piece is a brilliant painting of Tommy done by popular artist George Smith. [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]This night is being run on a free weekend from football so as not to put too much pressure on your wallet or purse; I hope that it will be a great success, the details are below. [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]Tommy Burns Race Night - Friday 11th Nov in the Newly Refurbished London Rd Social Club...Tickets £5. [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]9 Races on the night for which we need Sponsors - £50 a Race has been suggested but all offers will be considered!...Race will be named after the Sponsor. [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]Each Race has 8 Horses to be sold at £5 each. [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]Jockeys for same Race will be sold at £5 each [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]Those who buy these will be able to name the Horse & Jockey [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]The 9th Race will be an Auction race on the night so come along with your friends and be ready to bid for a horse.... [COLOR=#000000:f1994233]As I said already; all the proceeds will go to the charity, thanks to Phil Agnew and Jim Ward for their fantastic work in arranging the night.

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the Charity Night has had to be postponed until after the New Year. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

Joe
I am running Croy Beambacks 5th Tommy Burns Supper in January and note your comments.
Would you have objections to me using this forum to advertise our night to obtain t-shirts and badges etc. for our raffle. I have emailed a number of CSCs and hope to get some donations.
In recent years we have received t-shirts from New York, Tokyo and, believe it or not Papua New Guinea (The Real Jungle Bhoys!).
Happy to note your thoughts.
